TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
DURARE Season 2026
By registering for, entering or participating in any RACE DURARE Ltd Event, Athletes (also referred to as “participants” or “entrants”) agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Organiser
RACE DURARE Ltd with its registered office at 33 Bridge Way, Muxton, Telford, England, TF2 8JL ("Organiser", "we" or "us") is the exclusive rights holder, owner, and organiser of the endurance fitness event known as DURARE (the "Event") and all other fitness events operated under the DURARE brand name (including but not limited to DURARE STRONG, DURARE 5K and DURARE 10K).
RACE DURARE Ltd is responsible for the planning, organisation, management, delivery, and commercial exploitation of all DURARE events taking place within the United Kingdom.
1.2 Race Format
DURARE is a functional endurance race designed to test aerobic capacity, strength, resilience, and mental fortitude. The standard DURARE race format consists of:
-
8 labours and 8 runs all performed whilst either carrying, lifting, moving or jumping over a weighted sandbag;
-
600 metre runs between every labour station;
-
60 repetitions or 60 metres of work at each of the 8 labour stations;
-
Prescribed movements (burpees, bear crawl, thrusters, lunges, box stepovers, squats, seated twists, ground to overhead), equipment, loads, and standards defined by division.
The standard DURARE race format may be completed Solo (male/female) or in Pairs (male/female/mixed) and is separated into Open and Pro divisions with predetermined sandbag weight categories.
Weight Categories - (Female Solo/Pairs Open – 10Kg, Female Solo/Pairs Pro – 15Kg, Male Solo/Pairs Open – 20Kg, Male Solo/Pairs Pro – 25Kg, Mixed Pairs Open – 15Kg, Mixed Pairs Pro – 20Kg).
DURARE STRONG involves the same labours and weight categories as the standard DURARE race format but does not include the 600m runs between labour stations.
DURARE events may be carried out indoors or outdoors as notified and detailed within individual Event material/information.
Outdoor locations may include but shall not be limited to athletics tracks, public open spaces and grassland, farmland, forests, coastal or other mixed and/or undulating terrain.
Outdoor events may be held near to open water including, but not limited to, rivers, canals, lakes and sea water.
The Organiser reserves the right to adjust movements, equipment, loads, running routes, or station order where required for safety, logistics, environmental conditions, or operational necessity.
1.3 Legal Compliance
All DURARE Events are delivered in compliance with all relevant and applicable UK laws, regulations, by-laws, land-use permissions, environmental controls, and health and safety legislation (together, "Applicable Laws").
All Athletes, spectators, staff, and volunteers must comply with Applicable Laws and any reasonable instructions issued by the Organiser or its representatives.
2. THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS
2.1
These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern the registration for, and participation in, any DURARE event held in the United Kingdom. They form a legally binding agreement between Athletes and RACE DURARE Ltd.
2.2
We reserve the right to amend these T&Cs, the format of the Event and/or race structure, schedule, venue, or any operational aspect of the Event at our reasonable discretion, including where required due to changes in Applicable Laws, event or venue requirements. Any material changes will be communicated to participants in advance of the Event where reasonably possible.
3. REGISTRATION
3.1
In order to register as an Athlete, participants are required to complete the registration process for the relevant DURARE Event via the official DURARE website – www.racedurare.co.uk.
When registering for a DURARE Event it will be necessary for Athletes to provide a full name, address, DOB, emergency contact and valid e-mail address for all participants (including the second Athlete for Pairs entries).
3.2
As part of the registration process Athletes will need to do the following:
a) Complete the Event booking form truthfully and accurately to the best of their knowledge and belief. The use of false or misleading information may result in cancellation of registration and exclusion from all future DURARE events.
b) Consent to the storage and processing of their personal data in accordance with all Applicable UK Laws and the RACE DURARE Ltd Privacy Policy (www.racedurare.co.uk/privacypolicy) as provided for at Section 9.1 of these T&C’s
c) Confirm acceptance of these T&Cs.
d) Agree to the terms of the Participant Waiver.
e) Pay the applicable ticket fee and, where applicable, the fee for any optional upgrades and add-ons such as flexible ticket options, media packages, or other products related to the Event.
3.3
Completion of the registration process will constitute a binding and irrevocable offer to participate in the chosen DURARE Event in accordance with these T&Cs. A binding contract is formed once the registration is confirmed by email.
3.4
In order to participate in a DURARE event, Athletes must:
a) Be at least sixteen (16) years of age on the day of the Event;
b) Be in good physical and mental health;
c) Provide medical confirmation of fitness to compete if reasonably requested by the Organiser;
d) Have a valid entry ticket for the relevant Event and chosen division;
3.5
Athletes are solely responsible for assessing their fitness and health status prior to participation and for drawing any relevant medical conditions to the attention of the Organiser. Any changes in health after registration, including illness, injury, or pregnancy, shall not create an entitlement to a refund. Any costs incurred in providing medical clearance to take part in any DURARE Event remain the responsibility of the individual Athlete.
3.6
Athletes who are under eighteen (18) years of age on the day of the Event must submit written consent to participate from a Parent or Guardian by email to jason@racedurare.co.uk no later than seven (7) days prior to the Event. Failure to comply may result in removal from the Event with a refund of the Ticket Fee minus any service or processing fees.
3.7
The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify or remove any Athlete from the Event, without refund, if:
a) false, misleading or inaccurate information was provided at the time of registration;
b) the Athlete appears to be medically unfit to compete;
c) their behaviour endangers others or otherwise disrupts the Event;
d the Athlete is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prohibited substances.
4. TICKETS, RETURNS & NAME CHANGES
4.1
Ticket types may include:
Standard Tickets (no refunds or changes),
Flexible Upgrade Tickets (refunds and name changes permitted),
4.2
Standard Tickets are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable (including where an Athlete does not finish the Event due to withdrawal, time cut-off or fatigue).
4.3
Flexible Upgrade Tickets provide ticket holders with the option of a refund and/or an entitlement to a name change in specified circumstances in accordance with the terms and conditions of the said ticket as set out at the time of purchase.
4.4
The additional fee associated with the purchase of a Flexible Upgrade Ticket is non-refundable under all circumstances.
5. FEES & PAYMENT
5.1
All prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT unless otherwise stated.
5.2
A service or processing fee may apply to all transactions and is non-refundable. The amount of any service or processing fee shall be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
5.3
Payments must be made in full at the time of registration via accepted electronic payment methods as stated on the registration platform.
6. EVENT ACCESS/PROCEDURES
6.1
Athletes are required to present themselves at the ‘Check-in’ desk upon arrival at the Event.
Access to the Event as an Athlete requires the provision of:
a) A valid entry ticket/registration confirmation in either electronic or hard copy format;
b) Photographic identification (where requested by the Organiser),
c) Any medical documentation/information that the Athlete reasonably believes might be relevant to their ability to safely participate in the Event.
6.2
Athletes displaying symptoms of illness or intoxication may be denied access or removed from the Event without refund.
6.3
Timing chips and associated equipment issued must be returned immediately upon completion of the Event. Lost or damaged items may incur replacement fees of up to £15.00.
7. FORCE MAJEURE, POSTPONEMENT & CANCELLATION
7.1 Force Majeure
The Organiser may, at its sole discretion, postpone, modify, relocate, shorten, suspend, or cancel the Event (in whole or in part) where conduct of the same is prevented, hindered, or is rendered unsafe or impractical due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
a) extreme, dangerous or hazardous weather conditions;
b) flooding, fire, or environmental damage;
c) public health emergencies, epidemics or pandemics;
d) national/local government or local authority restrictions;
e) landowner or venue restrictions;
f) safety or security threats (including threats of terrorism);
g) equipment or infrastructure failure;
h) illness or other events affecting Event staff levels;
Such circumstances shall constitute a "Force Majeure Event".
7.2 Postponement
If the Event is postponed prior to its commencement, all registrations will automatically transfer to a rescheduled date. Athletes are not entitled to a refund due to postponement alone.
7.3 Cancellation Prior to Start
If the Event is cancelled prior to commencement due to a Force Majeure Event, the Organiser may offer, at its discretion:
a) free registration to a future DURARE Event;
b) a credit towards a future DURARE Event;
c) partial or full refund of the Ticket Fee (excluding service or processing fees).
The Organiser shall not be liable for any travel, accommodation, subsistence, or other indirect costs incurred.
7.4 Cancellation During the Event
If the Event is cancelled or suspended after commencement:
a) results may be voided;
b) incomplete waves or divisions may be rescheduled where feasible;
c) alternative remedies may be offered at the Organiser’s discretion.
No automatic entitlement to refunds shall arise from partial completion of the Event.
8. RISK, LIABILITY & DISCLAIMER
8.1 Inherent Risk
DURARE Events are physically and mentally demanding and take place both indoors and outdoors, including in mixed-terrain environments as set out at section 1.2 above.
Participation involves inherent risks including, but not limited to, slips, trips, falls, collisions, drowning (in the case of events taking place in close proximity to water), equipment failure, overexertion, dehydration, heat or cold exposure, and serious injury or death.
8.2 Athlete/Participant Responsibility
By registering for and/or participating in a DURARE Event, Athletes confirm that they:
a) are physically and mentally fit to compete;
b) understand the nature of endurance racing and functional fitness competition;
c) accept all risks associated with participation;
d) have undertaken adequate training and preparation for the Event.
8.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organiser excludes liability for any loss, injury, illness, damage, or expense arising from participation in the Event, including indirect or consequential losses.
Whilst all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that Athletes are provided with an accurate finishing time for the event, which shall be collected via electronic means, the Organiser in no way guarantees the provision of such information.
The failure of any electronic timing systems to record individual finishing times during the Event, however so caused, shall not give rise to any entitlement to a refund of the ticket fee.
The above exclusions shall also apply to the personal liability of the Organiser’s employees, servants, representatives and agents (including volunteers).
8.4 Non-Excludable Liability
Nothing in these T&Cs excludes or limits liability for:
a) death or personal injury caused by negligence;
b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
c) any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under English law.
9. DATA PROTECTION, MEDIA & PHOTOGRAPHIC/IMAGE RIGHTS
9.1
By providing information via the online registration process (or other means such as e-mail, Facebook, Instagram or Tik-Tok) and/or by participating in a DURARE Event, consent is given to the collection, storage and processing of personal data for event administration, safety, results publication, contractual and communication purposes in accordance with all Applicable UK Laws and the RACE DURARE Ltd Privacy Policy (www.racedurare.co.uk/privacypolicy).
9.2
Athletes participating in a DURARE Event grant the Organiser, either itself or through authorised third-parties engaged by the Organiser, the right to capture, store, use, and distribute photographs, video, and audio recordings (“Media Content”) from the Event for promotional, commercial, and documentary purposes, without compensation of any sort (including use on social media). In addition, the Organiser may allow all partners, sponsors and venues the same usage and media rights as granted to the Organiser herein.
9.3
Third-party media providers may offer optional photo or video packages related to the Event. Separate terms and conditions may apply.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
10.1
All DURARE trademarks, logos, event formats, and related intellectual property (“DURARE IP”) remain the exclusive property of RACE DURARE Ltd.
10.2
All media and photographs from Events shall remain the property of RACE DURARE Ltd
10.3
No use of DURARE IP is permitted without prior written consent of RACE DURARE Ltd.
11. EVENT RULES
All participants must comply with any rules issued by the Organiser and shall complete all movements in accordance with the official DURARE Briefing Document (www.racedurare.co.uk/briefing) and the official DURARE Movement Standards Video (www.racedurare.co.uk/video), which forms an integral part of these T&Cs.
12. JURISDICTION AND APPLICABLE LAW
12.1
These T&Cs are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
12.2
If any term or provision within these T&C’s is held to be invalid, the remaining terms and provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12.3
No third party has any rights under these T&Cs save where expressly provided for.
